Port-au-Prince, le 14 octobre 2026 — À l’approche de la commémoration de la mort de Jean-Jacques Dessalines, le Secrétariat Général de la Présidence a publié ce mercredi une note officielle (référencée PN/SGP/RJH/2840) confirmant le caractère férié et chômé de la journée du samedi 17 octobre 2026.
En conformité avec les articles 1 et 2 du Décret du 11 décembre 2024 fixant les Fêtes Légales, les autorités rappellent que cette fermeture obligatoire concerne l’ensemble du territoire national. Sont ainsi appelés à chômer intégralement :
• L’Administration Publique
• Les Écoles
• Le Secteur Privé (incluant le Commerce et l’Industrie)
Le document, émanant du Palais National et signé par la Secrétaire Générale, Marie E. Régine Joseph Haddad, souligne l’importance d’honorer solennellement la mémoire du Père de la Nation haïtienne en ce jour de deuil national.
